Who We Serve

Septic System Installation for Residential & Commercial Properties

Robinson Landscape specializes in complete septic system installation for properties not connected to municipal sewer systems. Whether you’re building new construction in rural Bucks County, replacing a failing system in Montgomery County, or addressing a condemned drain field in Central New Jersey, our team has the specialized equipment, local knowledge, and regulatory expertise to deliver a code-compliant, long-lasting septic solution.

Our septic installation services include:

Pennsylvania’s Sewage Facilities Act (Act 537) and New Jersey’s Administrative Code (N.J.A.C. 7:9A) govern septic system installation with strict requirements for soil testing, system design, isolation distances, and inspections. In Bucks County, the Health Department administers the permitting program, while Montgomery County’s Office of Public Health handles site evaluations and system approvals. Our familiarity with these agencies and their specific processes eliminates confusion and prevents costly delays for property owners.

Our Process

Our Septic System Installation Process: What to Expect

Step 1

Free Consultation & Site Assessment

Contact us at (215) 292-6572 or tim@robinsonlandscape.com. Tim Robinson provides an on-site assessment to evaluate your property’s conditions, discuss your project needs, and outline the path forward. For new construction, we’ll coordinate with your builder and engineer from the start.

Step 2

Soil Testing & Permitting

Your local SEO conducts soil profile examinations and percolation tests to determine site suitability and system type. We coordinate with the SEO and your system designer to ensure the application moves through approval efficiently.

Step 3

Professional Installation

Once permitted, we arrive on schedule with professional excavation equipment. We install the septic tank, distribution box, and drain field (absorption area) according to the approved design specifications. All backfill is placed in thin layers and properly compacted to prevent future settling or damage to system components.

Step 4

Inspection & Completion

We schedule the required SEO inspection before the system is covered. Pennsylvania regulations require absorption areas to be covered within 5 calendar days of final inspection and approval to prevent damage. After passing inspection, we complete site grading, topsoil installation, and restoration so your property is left clean and functional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Septic system installation costs vary based on system type, tank size, soil conditions, and site accessibility. Conventional systems typically range from $4,000 to $12,000, while alternative systems such as elevated sand mounds or aerobic systems can cost $10,000 to $20,000 or more. Robinson Landscape provides detailed written estimates that account for your specific property conditions, permit fees, and restoration needs.

Yes. Pennsylvania’s Sewage Facilities Act (Act 537) requires a permit for all new septic system installations and replacements. In Bucks County, the Health Department administers the on-site sewage permitting program. The process involves soil testing, percolation tests, system design approval, and final inspection by a certified Sewage Enforcement Officer. Robinson Landscape coordinates with all required agencies on your behalf.

The physical installation typically takes 2 to 5 days depending on system complexity and site conditions. However, the overall timeline includes soil testing, permitting, and system design, which can add several weeks. We help streamline the process by coordinating directly with your SEO and system designer to minimize delays.

We install conventional gravity-fed septic systems, which are the most common type for residential properties. We also work with engineers on alternative systems including elevated sand mounds, drip irrigation systems, and aerobic treatment units when soil conditions, lot size, or site limitations require non-conventional solutions.

Absolutely. If your existing system is malfunctioning — showing signs like sewage surfacing, slow drains, or failed inspection — we handle complete system replacements including old tank removal, new installation, and full site restoration. Replacement systems require their own permitting process, which we manage from start to finish.

Yes. Robinson Landscape is licensed in New Jersey (NJ #13vh08112100) and serves Central and South New Jersey including Hunterdon County, Mercer County, Burlington County, and Camden County. New Jersey regulates septic systems through N.J.A.C. 7:9A and requires permits from local health departments. We coordinate with NJ administrative authorities to ensure full compliance.
